This week, the biggest buzz on the Internet has been surrounding the lost (and found) iPhone prototype, running the new OS 4.0 software—a.k.a. the holy grail of handheld devices: the next generation iPhone. Not only was Apple’s prized possession lost and found, but it ended up in the hands of Gizmodo, who of course, broke the story. Apple is very well-known for its lockdown level of security surrounding any new devices or product launches. No Apple product is ever leaked to the press—we are only introduced to the new product when Steve Jobs presents it to us. So, how did the biggest weapon in their arsenal end up in the hands of one of the most outspoken, well-known tech blogs?
