20 Years & Blooming

This month officially marked the 20th year anniversary for Flowers Communications Group. As we celebrate this exciting milestone, we wanted to take a moment to give honor and recognition to our Founder and CEO, D. Michelle Flowers Welch, for having the courage and commitment to embark on an unchartered path, and build what we know as a great place to work. To commemorate this time in FCG history, we’ve declared April 21^st as Founder’s Day.

Over the past 20 years, we’ve seen the world we live in change drastically, both technologically and culturally. While not fully recognized at the time, the need for multicultural agencies certainly existed back then. And, as noted in the latest U.S. Census data, we continue to expand and evolve into an increasingly more multicultural nation, making the need for FCG and what we do greater than ever. That speaks volumes to the vision of Michelle, and as President of FCG, I can confidently speak for our entire team in saying that this is a torch we will proudly carry, as we head into the next 20 years.

When Michelle started FCG 20 years ago, I don’t know if she fully realized the personal and professional impact it would have on the lives of so many communications professionals. It takes vision, diligence and lots and lots of personal sacrifice to sustain a business for one year – imagine 20! Because of her perseverance, what we have today is a special place that provides us the unique opportunity to do the work we enjoy, in an atmosphere with people we enjoy working with. And that, is something to appreciate.

And so Michelle, we thank you: for all you do for us, to help us grow professionally and personally, and for all you’ve done and continue to do for our industry as a true trailblazer and leader in multicultural communications and marketing. Here’s to the next 20.
